Is the water in Auburn hard? Will it ruin new glass and tile?

Yes, and most stay inside the original tub footprint — a standard 60-inch alcove clears the California Plumbing Code minimum of 1,024 square inches with room for a 30-inch circle (CPC §408.6). The tub, surround and valve come out, the drain moves for a shower base, and new walls, glass and trim go in. The before-and-after photos on this page are real Auburn conversions.
Do you remodel small bathrooms?
