Bathroom remodeling services for Auburn and the foothills.
Four services, all of them bathrooms and showers — no kitchens, no additions. Every project starts with an on-site walkthrough and a line-item written estimate, and we pull the permit.
Which service fits your bathroom
- The shower is failing or dated → shower remodeling. Tile, solid quartz or acrylic walls, a new base and new glass; the rest of the room stays.
- A tub nobody uses → tub-to-shower conversion. Usually inside the original tub footprint, with the drain and valve reworked.
- You want step-free or seated access → walk-in showers. Low-threshold or curbless entry, fold-down seat and grab bars on solid blocking.
- The whole room needs work → bathroom remodeling. Layout, plumbing, vanity, flooring, lighting and ventilation together.
- Scope: bathrooms and showers only — no kitchens, additions, roofing, tub refinishing or reglazing, walk-in tubs or commercial work.
- Licence & warranty: Oakwood Remodeling Group Inc., CSLB #1125321 — look it up on the CSLB site. 3-year workmanship warranty; product warranties are separate.

The same rules apply whichever service you pick.
- A permit, pulled by us. Inside Auburn city limits that is the City of Auburn Building Division; North Auburn, Meadow Vista, Newcastle and Penryn are unincorporated Placer County; Lake of the Pines, Alta Sierra and Lake Wildwood are Nevada County, and Grass Valley issues its own.
- Inspections before the walls close. Rough plumbing and electrical, and a tiled shower pan filled with water to the threshold to prove it is watertight (California Plumbing Code §408.7.5).
- Code minimums built into the design. At least 1,024 square inches of shower and room for a 30-inch circle (CPC §408.6), a pressure-balance or thermostatic valve capped at 120°F (CPC §408.3), safety glazing at the shower (CRC §R308.4.5), GFCI-protected receptacles and an exhaust fan that discharges outside the building.
- Pre-1994 homes checked early.A permitted alteration to a single-family home built on or before January 1, 1994 can't be finaled until noncompliant fixtures are replaced (Civil Code §1101.4) — so we look at the rest of the house during the estimate.
- A 3-year workmanship warranty. Product warranties are separate and vary by manufacturer.
The questions everyone asks first.
Cost and schedule both depend on the room: the wall system (acrylic panels go in faster than tile), whether the drain moves, and lead times on things like custom glass. We put both in writing after a walkthrough rather than quoting a number that can't hold. These guides explain what drives them.
- What drives the cost of an Auburn bathroom remodel — the variables that move the number, and why the estimate is line-item.
- How a bathroom remodel is sequenced — the order of work, where inspections land, and what stretches a schedule.
- Curbless vs low-threshold walk-in showers — which entry suits your floor structure.
- Does removing the tub hurt resale? — what to weigh before giving up your only bathtub.
Not sure the bathroom is even the right project yet? The project write-ups show what real foothill bathrooms needed, and areas we serve lists the towns this location covers.
